UNESCO has been involved in the ISIC card since the very creation of the card. In 1968 UNESCO officially endorsed the ISIC card, recognizing it as a unique document encouraging cultural exchange and international understanding. The UNESCO logo has also appeared on the card since 1993 following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which was renewed in 1999, aimed at promoting young people's access to mobility and to a variety of educational and cultural experiences. This aim still stands strong today.

Announcing the First Global Study Awards Winners

Girl power rewarded – first round goes to three female winners from Germany, Kenya and Uganda.

The British Council IELTS, the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) and StudyPortals are proud to announce the winners of the first round of the Global Study Awards!

Eylem Elma (29) from Germany, Roberta Jean-Marie Magoba (19) from Uganda, and Emily Wakesho Buziba (24) from Kenya, are the three lucky winners who were selected to receive the awards of £10.000 each to cover their tuition fees and living expenses while studying abroad.
